ALEX BIRD TROPHY

KEN IS THE 2009 CHAMPION - ROB WINS AT YORK.

The York Ebor Meeting saw the culmination of the Alex Bird Competition for another year (they come around too fast!) and the Northern Racing Club Champion Tipster for 2009 is a long standing supporter of the contest and the Club, Ken Unsworth. In a closer than usual year, his best three rounds totaled 457 points, just pipping Helen Goodwill on 447 with Tim Cogan third with 432. Well done to them and congratulations to Ken who collects the trophy and £100 cash plus a £25 free bet courtesy of Weldon’s our sponsors. Helen also collects a £25 free bet courtesy of Waldron’s.

A further £100 cash plus a £25 free bet with Waldron’s goes to Rob McDermott, another stalwart of the competition. He won the York round with 155 points followed by Guy Weaver on 145 and Tim Cogan and Doug Richardson, each on 140. All the scores are shown below and that's it until 2010. Thanks to all who took part this year - hope future punting is kind and profitable to you all.
