CHESTER FESTIVAL PREVIEW - TUES MAY 6th

NRC are delighted to advise that Chester Racecourse have agreed to stage this preview night in conjunction with NRC.

It will be held in the 'Long Room' and will commence at 7.45pm.

Mark Howard from Racing UK has already agreed to join the panel and we now have confirmation that he will be joined by Tony Lewis (Daily Star), Jan Green (Chester Chronicle), Paul Fergusson (Racing Ahead) and Steve Taplin (Timeform 2yo Annual).

Entry costs just £5 and a cash bar is also available.

SPRING SOCIAL & PRIZE GIVING - SAT MAY 17TH

The club has booked a private room at the Bickerton Poacher (within easy reach of Bangor on Dee) for a social get together for members after the afternoon fixture at nearby Bangor on Dee when hopefully the winners of the clubs Alex Bird and NH Saturday Naps challenge will be able to collect their trophies.

The room will be booked from around 6.30pm and will be available all night. A two course carvery meal will be included and members will have sole use of the venues skittle alley so we can have a bit of fun after our meals. * any special dietary requirements can also be arranged albeit the price quoted may vary.

Member's suggestions for the post dinner activities can be considered e.g. stand up bingo or a short quiz with the emphasis on making the night enjoyable for guests/family who may not be avid racing fans! Indeed as Bangor on Dee is a great family day out in the Spring we would encourage members to bring along younger family members as well as the venue has a good outdoor play area as well (weather permitting!).

Apart from the presentations the evening will be as informal as possible and you will be able to leave whenever you wish - although the room will be booked until closing time for those not in a rush!

The cost will be £15pp which includes the cost of the meal and hire of the private room/skittle alley plus prizes for the various 'fun' competitions to be arranged on the night.

As the room is designed to hold max 50 people early bookings are encouraged although cheques will not be cashed until 1 week before the event.

Whilst we havent a race at Bangor On dee for this meeting Im sure many members attending the evening function will be racing as well - if you would like to arrange tickets through the club a small saving is available - Course badges cost £7 and Paddock £16. Please send your bookings for places to NRC at 53 Dalebrook Rd, Sale, Cheshire M33 3LB together with an SAE - if you require a paper version of the location map (or e mail address). The closing date will be May 10th and reminders will appear in future editions of Racin until all places are filled.

SATURDAY JUNE 7TH - STABLE VISIT TO PETER GRAYSON AT FORMBY

Whilst the time of the visit is not yet confirmed it is expected that this will be mid morning.

Numbers are restricted to max 35 places thus early booking is recommended.

As usual we shall seek a donation of £4 (members) and £5 (guests)towards the present to the stable staff. All cheques payable to NRC please.
